Verkhovna Rada member describes Azerbaijan as key ally in fight for Ukraine's sovereignty
Ukrainian Member of Parliament and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Razumkov, has commended Azerbaijan for continued support amid Ukraine’s struggle to defend its independence and sovereignty.
Razumkov emphasized the strategic importance of defending statehood, noting that Azerbaijan is "skillfully coping with this task" as it strengthens its national independence and resilience, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Ukraine is fighting for its independence and the preservation of statehood, and support from Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people is of great importance for the country,” Razumkov stated, underlining the value Kyiv places on Baku’s solidarity.
He also extended his well-wishes to the Azerbaijani nation, commending its significant progress in recent years. “I wish Azerbaijan permanent prosperity. Modern Azerbaijan has made great strides. There is a long way ahead, which must be overcome. All the goals set for the Azerbaijani people and the state must be achieved,” he said.
Highlighting the potential for deeper bilateral ties, Razumkov noted that Azerbaijan’s robust economic capacity presents new opportunities for collaboration. “You have quite a strong economy, significant opportunities, and I am convinced that we can become reliable partners in the economic sphere for the benefit of our countries,” he added.
