Malaysia’s envoy: Azerbaijani delegations expected in Kuala Lumpur soon
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov are expected to pay official visits to Malaysia before the end of this year, Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ahmad Kamrizamil Mohd Riza said in an interview with domestic media.
According to the ambassador, bilateral engagements at the highest level have notably intensified in recent years, demonstrating the strong commitment of both Baku and Kuala Lumpur to further advancing their relationship.
“We are pleased with the increase in the number of high-level visits from Malaysia to Azerbaijan. At the same time, I would like to note that in recent years, there have been no official visits by Azerbaijani delegations to Malaysia,” Riza said.
He expressed hope that this trend will soon change, emphasising that more frequent visits by high-ranking Azerbaijani officials to Kuala Lumpur would serve as an important signal of the two countries’ mutual dedication to strengthening ties.
The ambassador also mentioned that in November, Malaysia’s Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadhil is expected to attend the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25), while former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad may take part in the Greater Caspian Summit.
