Vilnius airport closed after plane skids off runway

Vilnius International Airport is temporarily closed after a LOT Polish Airlines aircraft veered off the runway shortly after landing.

Airport spokesperson Tadas Vasiliauskas said the plane, arriving from Warsaw, skidded off the runway while taxiing toward the parking area, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

No one was injured in the incident, the spokesperson said.

The incident occurred at 1:43 p.m. local time amid severe weather, with heavy snowfall reported in the Lithuanian capital. Airport authorities said operations would remain suspended until 5:00 p.m. local time (19:00 GMT+4).
