War Secretary: US strikes drug-smuggling boat in Caribbean, killing three VIDEO
U.S. forces carried out a strike on a vessel in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, which the Pentagon says was being used for drug trafficking, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has said.
“Today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on another narco-trafficking vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) in the Caribbean. This vessel—like EVERY OTHER—was known by our intelligence to be involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting along a known narco-trafficking route, and carrying narcotics,” Hegseth wrote on X.

He added that three men aboard were identified by U.S. authorities as members of a terrorist organisation involved in drug trafficking. The group’s name was not disclosed. All three were killed during the operation.
Hegseth emphasised that the United States views South American drug cartels as terrorist entities comparable to al-Qaeda, and the Department of War will apply the same methods against them.
“We will continue to track them, map them, hunt them, and kill them,” the Pentagon chief stated.
