Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport on alert over incoming non-civilian aircraft
A level-two emergency has been declared at Ben Gurion Airport as a non-civilian aircraft, described by sources as a “gray aircraft,” prepared to land under unclear circumstances, according to Israeli media reports.
Citing unnamed sources, the reports indicated that the incoming aircraft is not a commercial passenger flight but is believed to be a military or otherwise non-civilian plane. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement clarifying the nature of the situation or whether the aircraft is experiencing a technical malfunction or another form of emergency.
Under aviation protocols, an Emergency-2 designation is used when a serious irregular situation is identified, but there remains a high probability of a safe landing. In such cases, emergency response measures are activated, including the deployment of rescue teams and firefighting units to standby positions along the runway.
The situation remains unclear, with further details expected as authorities assess the circumstances surrounding the aircraft’s approach and landing.
