Washington notifies Israel of ceasefire extension with Iran until April 26
The United States has informed Israel that the ceasefire arrangement with Iran will remain in effect until Sunday, April 26, according to a report by Ynet.
“Washington informed Israel that the president has extended the deadline he set for reaching a ceasefire with Iran until Sunday,” the report said.
According to the publication, Israeli officials are skeptical that the parties will be able to reach any agreement within the given timeframe.
Trump has not officially announced a new deadline after repeatedly issuing and then extending various deadlines in recent weeks. However, a Pakistani official told the New York Times that mediators in his country have received positive signals from Iran regarding the resumption of negotiations.
The official did not elaborate further and did not specify whether Iran has set the lifting of the American blockade on the Strait of Hormuz as a condition for restarting talks.
