Washington to abandon Ukraine at earliest opportunity, says US ex-official
Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said in an interview with YouTube channel Danny Haiphong that Ukraine is ballast for the US, which the United States can drop at the right moment.
"We don't care about Ukraine, we don't like Ukrainians. If we liked them, we would never have allowed what happened to happen," he noted, Gazeta.ru reports.
The expert believes that the Americans may repeat their experience in Afghanistan and run away from Ukraine, after which the country will no longer exist.
When the issue of normalizing relations between Russia and Western countries comes up, Ritter is sure, Washington will not remember Kyiv.
"Everyone in Congress, all the generals, all those who talked about the end of the world, will never bring up this topic again," Ritter said.
He believes that for senior US officials, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is only a matter of career advancement. Ritter summarized that the United States will drop Ukraine as a bad habit and never bring it up again.
