WB to publish updated estimates of damage to Ukraine's infrastructure
The World Bank (WB) intends to publish this week its updated data on the assessment of damage caused to the infrastructure of Ukraine amid the ongoing fighting.
The statement came from World Bank President David Malpas, TASS reports.
"The World Bank is conducting an official assessment of the damage, and this week we will provide updated information on this issue," he said at a seminar at the American non-Governmental Council on Foreign Relations.
According to the head of the World Bank, the assessment includes, in particular, the damage caused to the energy system, transport infrastructure of Ukraine. He hopes that the funds for reconstruction will be provided by the United States and European countries.
Malpas, who will leave his post by the end of June, also said that since the Ukraine war outbreak, the financial institution has allocated more than $20 billion to Kyiv. He also pointed out the need for transparency in the distribution of funds received by Ukraine.
