Wedding tragedy in Pakistan leaves eight dead
A gas cylinder exploded in a house where a wedding was taking place in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.
According to preliminary reports, the bride and groom, along with six other people, were killed, and nine others were injured, Caliber.Az cites Turkish media.
The explosion partially destroyed the house where the celebration was being held, and there may be people trapped under the rubble. In addition, at least four neighbouring houses were damaged.
Local media report that police and rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the explosion. Rescuers began securing the area and inspecting the site.
Nine injured individuals were taken to hospitals to receive medical treatment. The deceased include the bride and groom, as well as six wedding guests.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. Authorities are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy and to check the safety of similar facilities.
