WhatsApp, UN launch joint eco-initiative
The United Nations and WhatsApp have teamed up to fight climate change and the myth that global warming is no longer preventable.
Together they launched the UN Climate Action bot with tips on how to move towards a greener lifestyle, Buro247 reports, citing a fashion-industry trade journal Women's Wear Daily (WWD).
In the new service, users will be able to learn how to add more plant foods to their diet, use alternative energy sources and recycle things. In total, the UN and WhatsApp presented more than 6 million actions in UN Climate Action that will help shift to a conscious lifestyle. For now, the service is only available in English. More languages will be added in the coming months.
"This initiative allows us to reach out directly to people and inspire them to change," UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming said.
