White House: Trump won’t back down on Iran uranium demand

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s position regarding negotiations with Iran.

Speaking at a press briefing, Leavitt outlined Trump’s priorities in talks with Iran and emphasized that he will not waver in his intention to obtain uranium from the country.

“This is on the top of the priority list for the president and his negotiating team as they head into these next round of discussions. And as I said in my opener, that is a red line that the president is not going to back away from. And he's committed to ensuring that takes place,” she said.

The White House representative expressed hope that the objectives could be achieved through diplomatic means.
