White House: US has not yet sought ceasefire extension from Iran

Washington has not yet approached Iranian officials with a proposal to extend the current ceasefire, the White House has said.

Speaking at a press briefing, US administration spokesperson Karoline Leavitt dismissed reports suggesting that the United States had formally requested Tehran to prolong the truce.

“That is not true at this moment,” she stressed, denying claims that such an initiative had been put forward.
