WHO confirms 13 attacks on health facilities in Iran amid US-Israeli campaign
The World Health Organization (WHO) has verified 13 attacks on health infrastructure in Iran during the ongoing US-Israeli military campaign, resulting in the deaths of four health workers and injuries to 25 others.
“WHO has verified 13 attacks on health care in Iran and one in Lebanon,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated at a press conference, Iran International reports.
A WHO official added that four ambulances were affected by the strikes and that hospitals and other health sites sustained minor damage from nearby explosions.
The organization emphasized the critical importance of protecting health facilities and personnel amid escalating regional hostilities, highlighting the humanitarian impact of attacks on essential medical services.
