Witkoff shares emotional story of losing son to drug addiction video
Steve Witkoff, the US president’s special envoy for domestic policy, publicly shared a deeply personal tragedy, revealing that his son Andrew died from a drug overdose.
According to foreign media, Witkoff spoke at the presentation of the “Great American Recovery” initiative, where he struggled to hold back tears as he described the loss. He told the audience that the period following his son’s death was one of the most difficult moments of his life.
He stressed that the support of President Donald Trump during that time meant a great deal to him.
“He is a very special man. He began and led the fight against opioid addiction and alcoholism,” Witkoff said, thanking Trump for standing by him.
The event became an emotional platform not only to present the initiative but also to highlight the devastating impact of substance abuse and the need to support families who have faced similar heartbreaking experiences.
