World’s largest cruise ship Legend of the Seas sets sail on maiden voyage

The world’s largest cruise ship, Legend of the Seas, departed from Turku, Finland, heading for the Mediterranean Sea, the news agency Yle reports.

The vessel is the third Icon-class cruise ship built at a Finnish shipyard. It is also the first ship of this class to sail in European waters.

Legend of the Seas is 365 metres long and 65 metres wide. It can accommodate 5,600 passengers, and up to 7,600 passengers at maximum capacity. On board, guests can enjoy seven swimming pools, 10 jacuzzis, a surfing simulator, and both water and Broadway-style theatres.
