WSJ: EU develops plan to deploy troops in Ukraine

The European military command has drafted a plan to deploy troops in Ukraine, which includes the formation of two separate ground groups, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.

According to the publication, the first group would focus on training and assisting Ukrainian forces, while the second would form a “reassurance force” to prevent further attempts at Russian aggression.

Commitments have already been made to deploy more than 10,000 troops.

NATO aircraft stationed outside Ukraine will patrol the country’s airspace.

European states are now awaiting a decision from U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration regarding the level of support from the United States.
