WSJ: Four oil tankers divert from Venezuela after US strikes
An oil tanker en route to Venezuela changed course following US strikes on the South American country, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The newspaper said the tanker, identified as the Thousand Sunny, diverted its route to Nigeria after the US attack. In addition, four other oil tankers that had been bound for Venezuela halted their journeys and dropped anchor.
The Latin American country’s capital, Caracas, was rocked by a series of explosions early in the morning of January 3. The government there said military facilities and airport areas were hit.
US President Donald Trmp said the US captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and extracted them from the country in a military operation carried out in conjunction with US law enforcement
