WSJ: Pentagon in talks with automakers to expand weapons production
16 April 2026 10:56
The US President Donald Trump's administration is exploring the possibility of involving American automakers and other industrial corporations in the production of military equipment.
Pentagon officials have held discussions with executives from major companies, including General Motors, Ford, Wall Street Journal reports.
The talks reportedly aim to leverage industrial capacity and workforce resources to increase the production of ammunition and military equipment.
The initiative comes amid concerns over depleted weapons stockpiles due to ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran.
