WSJ: US to send anti-drone systems from EU to Middle East

The United States is redeploying Merops anti-drone air defence systems from Europe to the Middle East to counter Iranian drones, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports, citing sources.

“The U.S. Army is rushing to the Middle East counterdrone systems that have been battle-tested in Ukraine, in an effort to thwart Tehran’s destructive attacks across the region,” the report states.

It is noted that only a small number of systems are being deployed for counter-drone operations.
