WUF13: Baku hosts volunteer programme interviews
Preparations for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku have entered a key phase, with interviews for the Volunteer Programme now underway.
According to local media, around 10,000 candidates will be invited for interviews, having passed the initial selection stage from a pool of 16,000 applicants. Approximately 1,500 applications have come from foreign nationals.
During the interviews, candidates are assessed on their knowledge and skills, communication abilities, teamwork, and motivation. The selection process is conducted in stages and is designed to be transparent and objective.
Those who complete the interviews will join a training programme running from January to April 2026. The programme will cover general preparation, task allocation, and location-specific training. Ultimately, 2,500 volunteers will be deployed across various aspects of the forum.
During WUF13, volunteers will assist with guest registration, information services, session and exhibition management, cultural programme coordination, and other organisational tasks.
The 13th World Urban Forum is scheduled to take place from May 17 to 22 at the Baku Olympic Stadium. Participation is free, with registration open via the UN-Habitat official website.
