Xi invites Russia’s Putin to visit China

Chinese President Xi Jinping said on March 21 he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit China this year.

"I invited President Putin yesterday to visit China at a convenient time this year as China will host the third international forum under the One Belt, One Road framework. President Putin took part in the previous two forums," Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, TASS reported.

The Chinese premier also invited the head of the Russian government to visit China as soon as possible to establish close ties. Mishustin accepted Xi Jinping's invitation.
