Xi says US-China relations have "bighter prospects" after Trump talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping said talks with US President Donald Trump had broadened the scope of bilateral relations, with the prospects for ties between the two countries becoming “brighter”.

Xi made the remarks during a tea gathering at the White House, TASS reports.

“During the president’s visit to China in May, we defined China-US relations as constructive relations of strategic stability. This time, we have further expanded their substance, defining them as relations based on mutual respect, fairness and equality,” Xi said.

“Now our relations look exactly like this, and we see that the prospects for relations between China and the United States are becoming even brighter,” the Chinese leader added.
