Yemeni government takes control of military camps in south and east
Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, announced the completion of an operation to transfer military camps in the southern and eastern provinces, including the temporary capital Aden, under the control of government forces.
In a national address reported by SABA news agency, al-Alimi emphasised that the decision was made to protect civilians and uphold constitutional principles, rather than to demonstrate power.
He also announced the creation of a Supreme Military Committee, led by the Saudi-led coalition, which will be responsible for the training and command of all military formations. According to al-Alimi, this step is necessary in case resistance continues from the Ansar Allah movement.
Commenting on the actions of separatists from the Southern Transitional Council, the council head called on them to surrender their weapons, return property, and reintegrate into the state. He instructed authorities to provide assistance to the wounded, support the families of the deceased, and compensate affected civilians.
