Houthis strike internally displaced persons camp in Yemen’s Marib province UPDATED
The Houthi movement Ansar Allah has carried out a missile strike on a camp for internally displaced people in Yemen’s Marib province, leaving several people injured, Saudi broadcaster Al Arabiya reports, citing Yemeni military sources.
According to the sources, the Houthis targeted residential areas of Marib. Several people were wounded after a missile hit the displaced persons camp.
Al Arabiya said witnesses had recorded missile launches from the direction of Yemen’s capital shortly before the attack.

Yemeni army air defences shot down a drone launched by the Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah, towards the city of Marib, local news outlet Aden al-Ghad said on August 7, citing a military source.
Another Yemeni news outlet, Al-Mashhad al-Yemeni, reported that the Houthis also launched ballistic missiles and drones at Marib on the morning of August 7.
Earlier, the joint operations command of government forces said 17 soldiers were killed and several others wounded in Houthi attacks on army positions in the provinces of Marib and Hadramawt.
The reported attacks follow a large-scale Houthi missile and drone assault on military camps in eastern Yemen on August 6.
According to Al Hadath television, at least 45 Yemeni soldiers were killed in strikes on Marib and Hadramawt provinces.
On the same day, the Houthis also targeted the Saudi Arabian city of Najran, where the Saudi-led coalition said 11 civilians were injured.
