Yemen vows to defeat Houthis, restore state control nationwide

Yemeni Defence Minister Taher al-Aqili has said the country’s armed forces intend to defeat the Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, which he described as an instrument of Iran’s regional policy.

According to al-Aqili, Yemen’s internationally backed government, with the support of the international coalition, will continue its efforts to counter the Houthis and restore state control across the country, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

He also said lasting regional and international peace and security could not be achieved “without cutting off the arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”
