Zelenskyy: 186 Ukrainians returned in latest prisoner exchange with Russia PHOTO
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that 185 servicemen and one civilian have returned to Ukraine following a prisoner exchange with Russia.
In a statement published on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy said the group included individuals who had been held in Russian captivity since 2022, describing their release as part of ongoing efforts to secure the return of Ukrainian nationals detained during the war.
“Another 185 Ukrainian defenders are returning home today from Russian captivity. Alongside the servicemen, one civilian is also returning,” he said.
He added that the return of prisoners remained a key priority for Kyiv, and thanked those involved in organising exchanges as well as international partners supporting the process.
“The return of our people remains an unwavering priority for Ukraine. We work every day to secure the release of every Ukrainian man and woman from captivity,” he said.
