Zelenskyy announces sanctions on Rosneft, Lukoil, Russians behind drone attacks
Ukraine has imposed new sanctions targeting Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as individuals responsible for orchestrating drone attacks against Ukrainian civilians, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Telegram.
“Today, we continue our sanctions work with two new decisions. Ukraine has synchronised its measures with the United States and introduced restrictions on Rosneft, its enterprises, and companies within the Lukoil group,” Zelenskyy stated.
He added that the sanctions are already having a tangible financial impact on Russia.
In addition to targeting the oil sector, the Ukrainian president confirmed sanctions against Russians involved in the systematic use of drones against Ukrainian citizens.
Zelenskyy also outlined the country’s key sanctions priorities through the end of the year, emphasising further alignment with international partners, preparation of the European Union’s 20th sanctions package, and tightening restrictions on Russia’s shadow fleet, military production, collaborators, and propagandists.
