Zelenskyy appoints ex-ambassador to US as advisor on Ukraine’s reconstruction
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova as his advisor on the country’s reconstruction and investment strategy, he announced on Telegram.
“From today, Oksana Markarova will continue to assist our state as my advisor on Ukraine’s recovery and investment matters,” Zelensky wrote, per Caliber.Az.
The president emphasised that while Ukraine has spent the past four years countering Russian aggression and ensuring the country has adequate defence, air defence systems, and internal resilience, there is also a long-term priority: preparing Ukraine for post-war reconstruction and restoring normal economic development.
Zelenskyy highlighted that Markarova’s responsibilities will include advising on initiatives that strengthen Ukraine, such as improving the business climate, enhancing financial stability, attracting investments, and planning reconstruction efforts in coordination with strategic partners.
