Zelenskyy arrives in Türkiye With aim to end the war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Türkiye on November 19 for a series of high-level meetings aimed at accelerating efforts to end the war, resume prisoner exchanges, and secure the return of Ukrainian captives.
Zelenskyy will meet with Turkish leaders as well as U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff. Russian representatives will not participate in the talks, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
The Ukrainian president emphasised that Kyiv has prepared proposals to present to its partners, with a focus on speeding up the end of the conflict and addressing humanitarian issues. Discussions are also expected to cover deeper Ukraine-Türkiye cooperation in security matters.
Ukraine plans to offer Ankara and Washington updated mechanisms for restarting prisoner exchanges and outlining next steps to achieve a just and lasting peace. Türkiye continues to play a key role in international diplomatic efforts to support Ukraine.
