Zelenskyy claims deep strikes hit Russian refineries, patrol boats

On August 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces had carried out long-range strikes against targets inside Russia, including two oil refineries and several vessels.

In a post on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy said the attacks targeted sites located more than 1,300 kilometres from the frontline.

According to the Ukrainian leader, the Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery in Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan and the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in the Yaroslavl region were struck. He said the Yaroslavl facility is situated nearly 700 kilometres from the state border.

Zelenskyy also claimed that Ukrainian forces had hit a vessel belonging to Russia's so-called "shadow fleet", as well as two Russian military patrol boats.
