Zelenskyy clarifies Ukraine’s core demand for Istanbul negotiations with Russia
23 July 2025 18:27
The Ukrainian delegation will be insisting on the implementation of an immediate ceasefire during the third round of negotiations with Russia in Istanbul.
This narrative was revealed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an official statement published on his Telegram channel ahead of the peace talks on July 23, Caliber.Az reports.
“We will insist on the need for an immediate and complete ceasefire,” he wrote in his official statement following a description of another wave of Russian air strikes, this time hitting the Sumy region. According to Zelenskyy's account, more than 220,000 people in the region were left without electricity after Russian drones hit critical energy infrastructure.
