Zelenskyy departs for US ahead of meeting with President Trump PHOTO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to depart for the United States in around an hour and a half for a meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak shared a post on Telegram stating that President Zelenskyy’s plane will depart from Rzeszów in Poland, make a scheduled stop in Canada, and then continue on to Florida.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump is expected to take place on December 28.

Zelenskyy will meet US President Donald Trump in Florida on December 29 to discuss ending Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine. Zelenskyy aims to focus on a US-brokered peace plan and separate US security guarantees, though a senior Russian official said the proposal differs significantly from Russia’s negotiations with the US.

The Kremlin has not responded to Zelenskyy’s offer to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Donbas if Russia does the same. Overnight, Russian air strikes injured at least five people in Kyiv and one in the surrounding region, the mayor reported.
