Zelenskyy discusses Ukraine's air defence needs with NATO chief VIDEO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed his country’s air and missile defence needs and preparations for a winter support package with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in New York.

Detailing the talks in a post on Telegram, Zelenskyy said he also briefed Rutte on the aftermath of Russian missile strikes on Kyiv, Caliber.Az reports.

According to Zelenskyy, three waves of missile strikes had hit Kyiv by the time of the meeting. He told Rutte about the destruction and casualties.

“I briefed Mark in detail on all the consequences, the destruction and the casualties. This is the constant reality in which Ukraine lives,” Zelenskyy noted.

The Ukrainian president added that Ukrainian air defence forces had learned to intercept cruise missiles and drones and were now looking for ways to counter jet-powered Shahed drones.

In his words, Patriot interceptors are currently being used against ballistic missiles.
