Zelenskyy: Europe also has Tomahawk missiles, not just the US
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that some European countries also possess long-range weapons, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, and that Ukraine has already begun discussions with these countries regarding access to such systems.
Zelenskyy made the remarks during his address to the European Council, UNIAN reports.
“We should view our actions not only as defence, although that is the primary goal. We also need to shape our policies in such a way as to stop the spread or repetition of Russia's destructive tactics — in Europe or elsewhere. Therefore, when we talk about long-range weapons, for example, for Ukraine, we mean that Putin's regime must feel the real consequences of this war," Zelenskyy said.
In this context, the president called on European leaders to support anything that would help Ukraine acquire such capabilities, noting that “this truly has a significant impact on Russia.”
“And it's not just the US that has these long-range weapons — some European countries have them too, like the Tomahawk. We're already talking to countries that can help,” Zelenskyy emphasised.
He added that Putin understands “that long-range weapons can genuinely change the course of the war.”
