Zelenskyy hints Ukrainian drones could target Moscow’s May 9 parade
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has suggested that Ukrainian drones could appear during Russia’s May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow.
In remarks reported by Novini.LIVE with simultaneous translation, Zelenskyy noted that Russia has announced plans to hold the annual military parade on Red Square, but claimed it may take place without military hardware on display.
“If this is confirmed, it would be the first such case in many years where the country is unable to ensure the presence of equipment at the parade,” he said during the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
He added that the possibility of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles appearing during the event “cannot be ruled out.”
Zelenskyy also framed the coming months as a decisive period for Russia’s leadership, saying this summer would determine whether President Vladimir Putin opts to expand the war or move towards diplomacy.
