Zelenskyy lands in Ireland ahead of EU Council presidency ceremony
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Ireland, which assumes the presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1.
In a Telegram post, Zelenskyy confirmed that he had landed in Ireland and shared footage of his arrival.
The Ukrainian leader noted that he would take part in the ceremony marking the start of Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the EU, with meetings also scheduled with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin and European Council President António Costa.
“Ukraine proves every day that it deserves to be an equal part of our common European home. We hope that during Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the EU, we will achieve tangible progress on the path toward membership and open all negotiating clusters,” Zelenskyy said.
