Zelenskyy orders sweeping personnel reset across Ukraine’s energy sector
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the launch of a comprehensive set of measures aimed at cleansing and renewing the management of the country’s energy sector and the state bodies connected to it.
The president outlined these steps after a morning online meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, per Caliber.Az.
According to Zelenskyy, several key directives have been approved:
Reform of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC)
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to urgently submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law to renew the membership of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities.
Leadership changes in supervisory agencies
The government plans to overhaul the leadership of both the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate.
Appointment of a new head of the State Property Fund
The Prime Minister is required to submit to parliament a nomination for the position of head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
Clean-up and renewal of ARMA
In coordination with law enforcement and anti-corruption bodies, the government will carry out a full renewal of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). The selection process for a new ARMA chief must be completed by the end of the year.
Audit and sale of assets linked to Russia and collaborators
The government has also been tasked with promptly conducting an audit and preparing for sale assets that previously belonged to Russian entities or to collaborators who fled to Russia. Zelenskyy stressed that all such assets must operate “100 percent in Ukraine’s interests,” contributing to national defense and boosting state revenues.
Zelenskyy emphasized that this “personnel reset” is intended to enhance the effectiveness of public administration and strengthen Ukraine’s energy security.
