Zelenskyy rejects Trump proposal for Moscow talks

US President Donald Trump urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to travel to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Bloomberg reports.

According to sources familiar with the matter cited by the agency, Zelenskyy rejected the proposal. The sources said that the Ukrainian president was irritated by the very fact that the issue had been raised.

Bloomberg reported that Trump, despite previous refusals, urged Zelenskyy to visit Moscow for a meeting with Putin as the United States seeks to revive Russia-Ukraine negotiations.

The White House declined to comment when approached by Bloomberg.
