Zelenskyy's office announces start of Ukraine talks with EU security advisors in Geneva

23 November 2025 16:15

The Ukrainian delegation in Geneva has held meetings with national security advisors from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

Andriy Yermak, head of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s administration, shared the update on his Telegram channel, per Caliber.Az.

The European advisors included Jonathan Powell (UK), Emmanuel Bonne (France), and Günter Sautter (Germany).

“I held the first meeting with the national security advisors of the UK, France, and Germany—Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonne, and Günter Sautter. The next meeting will be with the US delegation. The discussions were very constructive,” Yermak wrote.

He added that a series of meetings in various formats will take place in Switzerland today to discuss the conclusion of the Russia-Ukraine war.

“Continuing to work together to achieve a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine,” Yermak concluded.

Earlier, a US delegation led by President Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had already arrived in Geneva.

The Geneva talks stem from the November 18 leak of Trump's 28-point blueprint, which demands Ukraine cede full control of Donetsk/Luhansk, recognise Crimea as Russian, limit its military to 100,000 troops, forgo NATO accession, and exclude Western peacekeepers—elements Kyiv and Europe decry as a "Russian wish list" rewarding aggression. Trump, who set the deadline, clarified on November 22 it's "not my final offer," amid bipartisan U.S. pushback.
