Zelenskyy says it is too early to talk about liberation of Crimea
Ukrainian intelligence officers have carried out a special operation in Crimea. However, it is too early to talk about the liberation of the peninsula, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He made the remarks during a press conference with the Portuguese leader, RBC-Ukraine reports.
Zelenskyy commented on the special operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Defence Ministry and the Ukrainian Navy, during which the Ukrainian flag was displayed in Crimea.
"It's too early to talk about the liberation of Crimea. This is the first thing. Second - I will have a detailed report from General Budanov. Third - yes, these are our guys. Fourth - there are no casualties on our side. That's good news. At least, this is what I could discuss on the phone with the head of the Defence Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence," the president said.
The Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence with the support of the Ukrainian Navy conducted a special operation in Crimea on Ukraine's Independence Day, on August 24.
The scouts travelled by watercraft to Cape Tarkhankut and landed on the shore. In the area of Olenevka and Mayak settlements, the special units hung out the flag of Ukraine.
After that, the scouts left the occupied peninsula without suffering losses.
