Zelenskyy says no consensus reached on Donbas in talks over US peace plan
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said there is still no agreement between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine on the status of the Donbas region.
He noted that participants in negotiations on the US peace initiative remain unable to reach a consensus on territorial issues, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Zelensky explained that several elements of the US proposal require further discussion, particularly on sensitive points such as security guarantees for Ukraine and the future control of its eastern regions. He stressed that Kyiv continues to push for a separate security guarantee agreement with its Western partners, especially the United States.
He added that Ukrainians want clarity on how allies would respond if Russia were to launch a new offensive, underscoring the need for firm commitments from partner countries.
