Zelenskyy says Ukraine will keep targeting Russia’s oil revenues
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine has received updated assessments of Russia’s losses in exports due to what he called “Ukrainian long-range sanctions,” referring to strikes deep inside Russian territory, according to his Telegram channel.
“Port Primorsk — minus 13% in cargo turnover, Novorossiysk — minus 38%, Ust-Luga — minus 43%. We believe that such internal Russian data may be understated. In turn, we will continue the operation to reduce Russian oil revenues and export volumes,” Zelenskyy said.
“In particular, depriving Ukraine of access to investment and disrupting our bilateral security and weapons production agreements have been defined by Russia as a foreign policy priority. Russia’s special efforts in this context will be directed at countering our cooperation in the Middle East and Gulf countries,” he said.
The Ukrainian president further claimed that Russian contingents in African countries have increased by 8,000 personnel in recent times, and that Russia is attempting to introduce drone usage across countries of presence through supply, local production, and training.
According to Zelenskyy, this expansion of military activity could lead to the modernisation and strengthening of terrorist organisations, transnational crime, and instability in regions critical for migration flows.
