Zelenskyy to continue European tour with Rome stop
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will continue his ongoing European tour with a visit to Rome, Italy, on December 9, European Pravda reports.
According to the outlet, following a phone call on December 7 between Zelenskyy and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the Italian government noted that the visit to Rome will be part of a series of working trips by the Ukrainian president to London, Brussels, and Rome for discussions with leading European leaders on the peace process in Ukraine.
Details of the planned trip have not yet been disclosed. During the call, Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s solidarity following recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and promised support for energy supplies and humanitarian assistance. Zelenskyy noted that the leaders also discussed the outcomes of contacts with the United States and the prospects and challenges ahead.
Earlier, on December 8 in London, the Ukrainian president is scheduled to meet with the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, before flying to Brussels for talks with EU and NATO leadership.
