Zelenskyy to visit US on July 28, Trump meeting planned

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit the United States on July 28, where he is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump, according to diplomatic sources cited by Suspilne.

During the visit, Zelenskyy is also expected to attend the funeral of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and hold a private meeting with Trump. Further details of the talks and the agenda for discussions between the two leaders have not been disclosed.

Zelenskyy confirmed on July 23 that he would travel to the United States.

He also indicated that meetings with U.S. figures Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are likely to take place during the visit, although their timing remains uncertain. “We will have a meeting. <...> Most likely, we may have a meeting in the United States. We have been invited, I think the meeting will take place in the coming days, a week,” he said.

Separately, Zelenskyy said he plans to meet representatives of Lockheed Martin, a major U.S. defence contractor that produces missiles for the Patriot air defence system, as part of efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
