Zelenskyy: Ukraine working round-the-clock to restore war-hit energy sites
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that work is ongoing to restore the country’s energy infrastructure following Russian strikes.
He wrote on Telegram that the energy sector remains the primary target of attacks, forcing repair crews to work almost around the clock, per Caliber.Az.
As Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel, he received reports throughout the day from Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal. He noted that restoration work is being carried out continuously, while new strikes occur almost every night. At present, around 58,000 people are involved in repairing power grids, generation facilities, and heating networks, with resources from Ukrzaliznytsia and other state-owned companies also being deployed.
The situation remains particularly difficult in Kyiv, where an additional 50 repair teams from various regions of the country have been sent, the president said. Challenges are also being observed in the Kyiv region, especially in the northern areas and the Boryspil district, as well as in border and frontline regions — Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Zelenskyy separately highlighted the work carried out to stabilise the energy system in Poltava region and in Odesa.
