Zelenskyy, US envoy Witkoff hold call on steps toward ending war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced on his Telegram channel that he held a phone conversation with U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
According to the statement, the discussion was also joined by U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and businessman Jared Kushner, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov, and Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) Andrii Hnatov.
Zelenskyy described the conversation as “very substantive and constructive.”
“We focused on many aspects and quickly discussed key issues that can guarantee an end to the bloodshed,” he wrote.
The president added that Ukraine is ready to continue working with the United States toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He also thanked President Donald Trump for facilitating an intensive negotiation process.
