POLITICS 25 September 2022 - 18:30
The House of Azerbaijan has opened in Finland, Helsinki.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Elshad Aliyev, Counsellor of the Azerbaijani embassy in Sweden and in Finland Javanshir Mammadov, Turkish Ambassador to Finland Deniz Cakar, Finnish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kirsti Narinen, as well as active members of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas living in this country, according to Azertag.
The guests were informed about the activity of the House of Azerbaijan.
While opening the event by making an introductory speech, Aliyev spoke about the work of the State Committee to support the activity of our compatriots living abroad. Currently, there are 18 Houses of Azerbaijan in several countries.
After the opening of the House of Azerbaijan in Helsinki, their number reached 19.
The deputy chairman of the committee noted that, as in other countries, the House of Azerbaijan in Helsinki is always open to everyone who loves Azerbaijan and wants to know more about it.
"Now there is a place where it is possible to gather and hold events. Azerbaijani language courses will be organised for your children here. We believe that our young compatriots in Finland will successfully take advantage of these courses and pass this tradition on to future generations," Aliyev noted.
Touching upon the activity of the Azerbaijani community in Finland, the deputy chairman said that our compatriots who work and study here are always distinguished by their activity, and the success of our compatriots plays a big role in shaping the positive image of our country.
