Uzbek president set to pay state visit to Azerbaijan
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Azerbaijan from July 2 to 4.
As part of the visit, Baku will host the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council on July 2–3, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
High-level talks and other bilateral events are also scheduled during this period.
The agenda will focus on strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations in the areas of friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance. Particular attention will be given to expanding practical cooperation and interaction in priority sectors.
President Mirziyoyev is also expected to take part in the inauguration of a newly constructed building of the Uzbek embassy in Baku.
On July 4, President Mirziyoyev is expected to visit the city of Khankendi, where he will attend the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and hold a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders of participating countries.
