Euronews chief hails Azerbaijan as country to discover for investment, tourism
Azerbaijan is a country offering significant opportunities for investment, visits, and partnership, Euronews Chairman Pedro Vargas David said during the opening of the channel’s new office in Baku.
Vargas David highlighted that Azerbaijan is opening up new possibilities for foreign investors, pointing to its infrastructure and strategically important location, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
He noted that the country plays a key role in energy security and is now opening sectors previously inaccessible to foreign investment, describing the present moment as ideal for exploring the opportunities the sovereign nation offers.
The Euronews chairman also underlined Azerbaijan’s strategic role in international transit corridors, including the active use of its airspace for routes between Europe and Asia.
On tourism, he said Azerbaijan is a country worth discovering, with attractions beyond the well-known “pearl” of Baku. He added that Euronews looked forward to working with the country’s new ski resorts to help tourists from across the world explore more of Azerbaijan.
Vargas David further noted that Azerbaijan’s approach to building relations with all countries aligns with Euronews’ own philosophy. He pointed out that the Baku office serves as a base from which the network has expanded across the Caspian, opening offices in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Finally, he congratulated Azerbaijan on becoming a full participant in the Central Asian leaders’ advisory meetings, describing it as an important milestone for the country.
