18 November 2025 11:14

During the 23rd autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Istanbul, Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş met with TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan to discuss the expansion of international parliamentary cooperation.

According to local media, the meeting focused on various initiatives, including the potential creation of a TURKPA+ format to strengthen collaboration with international structures.

Ramil Hasan highlighted that preparations are ongoing for the observation of the early parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, scheduled for November 30, 2025. He noted that an international TURKPA observer mission has been formed, comprising parliamentarians from all member states as well as delegates from the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan. The observation will be conducted in Bishkek and Osh.

Hasan also outlined plans for Kazakhstan’s upcoming chairmanship in 2026, including the organisation of joint meetings of the TURKPA committees on external relations and defence.

Furthermore, he drew attention to an initiative proposed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, aimed at expanding TURKPA’s cooperation with international organisations following the OTG model. This proposal includes exploring the creation of a TURKPA+ format to enhance multilateral engagement.
